Such starbursts were originally created for an ecclesiastic function, and many adorned local parish churches or private prayer rooms. Sunbursts are now a wonderful way to add an element of visual delight and interest to a room, whether over a mantle, bed, or entry table. This particular one, with it’s small central mirror and its double row of long, stylized rays would also look incredible mounted to the ceiling, or placed high and off-centered on a large wall.
