“Cut & Paste” collection by Kiki van Eijk is based on personality and emotion found within an object.
By first making hundreds of sketches, seven final objects have just “appeared” With these diverse references such as wheel, cart, high clock, bird cage, niche, farm, bourgeois, Primitive, complicated, rich, poor, they almost transform into seven curiosities. Each curiosity becomes much more than just an object; it creates it’s own imaginary and personal world; very autonomous. Each object is an assembly of colours, forms and materials such as solid wood, brass, copper, ceramics, textiles, mirror, steel. It represents the joy and importance of “making things” by hand without computers and really “designing by making”.
The pieces show Kiki’s big love for materials, experimentation, tactility, research, sketches, context, settings, proportions, curiosities and every-day beauty.
The Machine box: a half circular white shiny shape with two little half circular mirrors covers the other half of the circle made of blue wool felt with Royal Blue hand stitching. This whole circle is being carried by an oak frame with gold rope. The circle can be used as a container or box to store goods. Merely with its references to heavy duty machines, it creates a remembrance of the joy and importance of being and working in the workshop.

Space age lighting sideboard unique by “Franco Minissi” manufactured in the 70s

Magnificent corner sideboard made by the famous architect “Franco Minissi” for a private home in 1970.
Drawings of the project are archived and preserved at the Rome Historical Archives.
The cabinet is a one-piece piece made of white lacquered wood and inserted into a brass cage custom-made to hold the cabinet.
The sliding cabinet doors are made of a processed and curved plastic polymer, not the usual plexiglass but a component that lies between glass and plastic.
Inside are 2 lights with brass reflectors and a light in the corner part.
This piece of furniture is a perfect example of a transitional midcentury to space age style, elegant and refined yet contributes to being colorful and lively,suitable for those who want to have something unique and incredible that is part of design history.

20th Century Lacquered Gold Painted Wood Venetian Corner Cupboard, 1970s

Venetian corner cabinet from 20th century. Furniture of great size and impact in carved, lacquered, gilded and hand-painted wood with very pleasant floral decorations. Double body corner cupboard supported by three legs carved with curled feet, of good solidity, to be fixed to the wall for greater safety given the volume of the cabinet. Upper body with two doors with recessed glass, internally fitted with two shelves (see photo). Interior covered in fabric with various signs of wear, to be replaced (see photos). Lower body with two painted doors equipped with a flatter shelf with a good capacity base. Furniture complete with a working key. Carved and gilded wooden molding with some small drops of color (see photo). Corner cupboard with obtuse angle (about 136 degrees) for antique dealers and interior decorators with fabulous furnishings, overall in a fair conservative state. Side 52 cm.
