1910’s bronze bookends by Armor Bronze featuring a seated reading monk .
These bookends are in red and bronze with white book pages.
The company we know as Armor Bronze started as The National Metalizing Company. While some folks seem to think that the company was in business as far back as 1880, our research leads us to believe 1910 is closer to the actual founding date. Bronze was then electro formed onto the plaster mold. This was extremely innovative in the 1920’s. Unfortunately, it was also very costly for labor and materials. Some bookends could take as long as three days to be completed. They created some of the most detailed and sought after bookends we have today.
They are in good antique condition- normal wear sign due to age on the finish- both has some loss to it’s surface color which is very normal compare to their age.
Measurement: 7.5” H x 4” W x 4” D / each.
It’s very heavy, more than 7 pound the pair.

with their surprising ethnic decor, these astonishing vintage bookends are sure to have a great effect on the library or the shelves of the living room wall-system! All in hammered, folded copper, they are luminous and constitute a decorative element in their own right.

The objects are original, stamped Wall Made in Germany. They are in good condition, some very slight traces of use are visible on the copper.

The shapes and decor of these three screens are freely inspired on the figurative abstract works by the renowned painter Malevich, a pioneer of the geometric abstractionism of 20th century Russian avant-garde.
