This sake glass was hand made by Shimadzu, Ltd, in Kagoshima prefecture, Japan.

It is a type of “Edo Kiriko” which is traditional Japanese art form of cut glass (kiriko) that developed around the city of Edo (historical name for Tokyo).

This “Satsuma Kiriko” style cup is distinct from Edo Kiriko by its use of more gently sloping cuts, resulting in softer gradation of color around the cut pattern.It involves multiple layers of crystal and glass.

Beautiful vintage espresso cups (set of 6) with a sugar jar. The cups are made of white porcelaine with gold rim. Each cup sits in a copper cup. this not only looks very pretty, but allows you to hold the cup comfortably with hot drink inside. The set can be used for coffee, but also tea, as the size fits the traditional team cups, too. The set comes with copper jar for sugar. Original consition, never used. Beautiful set.
