1960s Mid-Century Emil Milan Hand Sculptured Wooden Bowl Lapacho Ipe Brazilian Walnut

Stunning mid-century hand carved sculptural yet functional bowl by the renowned wood working artisan Emil Milan. Signed on the bottom with his signature identifier of the wood used, this piece is carved from Lapacho.
Also known as IPE or Brazilian Walnut, this is an unbelievably durable and hard wood species. Lapacho can be difficult to manipulate with tools due to its extreme hardness, but in the hands of Emil Milan, it forms into a true work of art, with a finish as smooth as butter.
