Annibale De Lotto Half-naked Boy Bitten by Crab large bronze sculpture depicting a young fisherman covered only by a cloth over his pubis, intent on observing his right foot bitten by a crab, present on the base.
106 cm. tall. (including the base) this casting is signed De Lotto on the back of the base, by Venetian sculptor Annibale De Lotto (San Vito di Cadore, 1877 – Venice, 1932).
This large bronze sculpture dates from the early 20th century, comes from a Milanese collection, and is in excellent condition with a beautiful dark patina that enhances the perfect anatomical rendering and the elegant plasticity of the twisting movement of the youth’s torso.
The maximum size of the sculpture in depth from hand to foot is 65 cm by 37 cm in maximum width, while the base measures 5 cm in height and is oval in marble.
