Large Brutalist Torchere Wall Sconce, France, 1970s

A large, spectacular and sculptural “torchère” wall light, brutalist, shabby-chic, neo-classical, circular base, large inclined lantern-style arm, cylindrical lampshade with melted perforations forming luminous wavelets, all in bronze or brass with gunmetal patina, artist’s work, to be attributed, france 1970.

note: the tail of the oblique axis is slightly twisted to find a horizontal section, suspended 1-2 cm from the wall, creating an interesting levitation effect. It is above all a detail of finesse which reveals the artist’s know-how, well. “brutalist”!
