Persian hand-knotted Kerman carpet 444 x 305 cm Signed

Kerman Persian carpet – original. Hand-knotted in the south of Iran in the city of Kerman, where the tradition of carpet-tying is very long and is one of the city’s main industries. Carpets from Kerman are known all over the world for their quality, beautiful colors and floral decorations. Kerman wool is very greasy (high quality), carpets are more durable and easier to maintain. Material: warp cotton, pile wool. Binding density: +/- 250,000 knots per 1m2. A large rug in a beautiful shade of red with a rich floral border and a central medallion with palmettes. The age of the carpet is 40-50 years. Condition: used, the carpet has damaged places from moths – see photo, now the carpet is treated against moths. The damage is only on one long side in the center of the carpet.
