Sisifo Fire Bowl by Andres Monnier

Sisifo fire bowl is a piece inspired by the myth of Sisyphus. In Greek mythology, Sisyphus was a king who
was punished for skipping death twice. He went to the underworld and returned to the upperworld by persuading ancient gods. As a punishment, Sisyphus was forced to roll a giant rock on a hill for eternity.
This piece represents the Upperworld half of the giant rock, and the fire represents the nucleus of power of Sisyphus between the two halves.

Designer’s Biography

Treko Concrete is a Mexican studio based in Ensenada, that has as a purpose to create functional handcrafted furniture and sculptural pieces to tell stories with art and design. With the direction of Andres
Monnier, Treko Concrete now creates handmade fire pits, art objects, and functional furniture with natural stone, mirror, concrete, wood, and metal. Treko works with different techniques and languages of
creation to innovate new purposes in conventional furniture.
