Ship’s lantern, solid brass anchor lantern by Japanese maker Nippon Sento Co. LTD, Tokyo, Japan. Circa 1970. This was a back up emergency lantern from a supertanker in the event it lost all power. Glass Fresnel lens. Meticulously polished and lacquered, and fitted with a cord and socket for home use. Carry and bale handles. Mounted to a thick mahogany base.
Overall dimensions: 21″H x 13″D wood base. Weight is 16 pounds.
