Vintage Neoclassical Octagonal Mahogany Wastebasket With Brass Lions Head and Metal Liner

This vintage mahagony wastebasket would be the perfect addition to an office or library. The octagonal basket is enhanced by inlaid banding and brass lions head ring giving it a very neoclassical look. There is a lift out metal liner for easy cleaning.
There is no makers mark except for the initials “BB” on the bottom which we assume to be the craftsperson.
This piece could also be used as a planter but we have not tested the liner to see if it is watertight.
Width is 10” at the top and 8.5” at the bottom.
