\n I’ve often seen and found Dorothy Thorpe style silver initialed items, but this is a first for me. The gold is as thick as a culver set, completely encrusted. I wish I could say they’re in perfect pristine condition, but they’re not. The letters are clearly intact, there’s no mistaking them, but there’s quite a few areas of rub down. The stylized gold bands are still clearly defined, if a bit rubbed off. I did NOT think that these were damaged when I got them, it was only at home on closer inspection that I noticed issues. For either display barware, or for actual use, I still think these are excellent. These are highly unusual and would make an excellent conversation piece, display or gift for a mad men era specific collector. I’m going to let the pictures talk for me here. The style is heavily influenced, if not actually made by, Culver.
