Midcentury Danish wall plaque by Noomi Backhausen (1938-2011) for Søholm Stentøj. Manufactured circa 1970s.<\/p>\n

The wall plaque features a stylised parrot in black and eathy colors with fine decorative lines. It’s made from chamotte clay and has a structured surface.<\/p>\n

Signed on front bottom: Noomi
\nOn the back stamped with Søholm Stentøj Bornholm Denmark and number 4003<\/p>\n

Noomi Backhausen (1938-2011) started as an apprentice painter at Søholm Keramik immediately after having finish school. She was educated at the ceramics department at the School of Arts & Crafts (Kunsthåndværkerskolen) from 1959 to 1962 and ran her own studio from 1962 to 1964. From 1966 she was re-employed by Søholm Keramik and worked there until 1990. She continued to work in her own studio in Bornholm.<\/span><\/p>\n
