\n A letterpress poster by American artist Carl Pope (born 1961). The poster depicts the phrase, “It’s Worth It Let Me Work It!” in silver and red text upon a white ground. The poster is in reference to Missy Elliott’s 2002 hip hop song “Work It,” specifically the chorus with lyrics “Is it worth it? Let me work it\/I put my thang down, flip it and reverse it.” The poster is marked “York Show Print P.O. Box 154 York, AL 36925” along the bottom edge.<\/p>\n

Carl Pope was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University. He is widely known for his ongoing installation posters, “The Bad Air Smelled of Roses”. Pope is devoted to creating art that stimulates individual and collective metamorphosis.
